KMC LTD signed a contract with SIEMENS ENERGY LTD of EUR 32 940, the subject-matter of which is: “Dismantling of equipment and installations under “Modernization of turbine unit TG 3 with new back pressure turbine in TPP Sofia East”. The contract is performed entirely by specialists of KMC LTD.
The contract covers the dismantling of existing installations and equipment. The activities carried out are intended to subsequently transform TG 3 from a steam condensing extraction turbine into a back pressure turbine with boiler-condenser for district heating purposes. The nominal heat output of the boiler-condenser is 90MW and the nominal electrical power is 40MW. It is envisaged that the turbine, generator and auxiliary equipment will be entirely new production.
As of August 21, 2020, KMC LTD has completed the first stage of dismantling work. The second stage of the assigned dismantling work is expected to start in April 2021.
