Varna Thermal Power Plant is the second largest thermal power plant in Bulgaria and the Balkan peninsula. Located on the north shore of the Lake Varna connected with Black Sea and 12 km away from Varna.
The choice of that location is related to the provision of the main fuel – high-grade anthracite coal, supplied in full by imports. The condensation-based plant has 6 turbines with installed power of 210 MW which makes a total of 1,260 MW.
