KMC JSC has successfully completed the first stage of the contract signed with the Contracting Authority: Troleybusen Transport-Vratsa EOOD for the execution of a public procurement contract with subject: “Execution of the engineering – design, execution of works and author’s supervision under the project “Modernization of urban transport in Vratsa municipality – “Reconstruction of the existing overhead line and equipment of TIS 1 (Rectifier Station 1) and TIS 2 (Rectifier Station 2)”.
The total value of the project under the contract is BGN 2 490 000,00 including VAT. The project is funded by the Operational Programme “Environment” (OPE).
KMC JSC has developed an investment project (the technical phase), which was accepted by the Contracting Authority and the controlling authorities with no objection. A Planning Permission was given and a ground breaking ceremony was held.
The project includes the reconstruction of the Overhead Contact Line (OCL) as well as the rectifier stations (TIS 1 and TIS 2).
The trolleybus overhead line in Vratsa was completed in the period 1986-1988. No major repairs have been undertaken in the past 35 years. Only emergency repairs have been carried out. The facilities are considerably outdated, the speed of the trolleybuses has been reduced. There is a tendency of increasing the number of accidents along the increasing lifetime of the OCL and for the last 5 years they have multiplied almost by 4. Therefore, in general, the technical condition of the OCL may be described as unsatisfactory.
The rectifying station (TIS) – is a set of facilities designed to reduce the voltage from 20 kV to 520 V AC and rectify it to 660 V to drive the DC motors of the trolleybuses. The equipment to protect its facilities, overhead lines, power cables and trolley buses has been installed. Its trouble-free operation provides safety and reliability of the electric transport.
The power supply of the trolleybus overhead line is provided by 2 rectifier stations – TIS 1 and TIS 2.
Modern and reliable equipment of the leading manufacturers will be used in the execution of the reconstruction.
The implementation of the modernization of the “Reconstruction of the existing overhead line and Equipment of TIS 1 (Rectifier Station 1) and TIS 2 (Rectifier Station 2)” will result in:
